“Desert Stones and Time” was painted based on studies done at Arches National Park in Utah. This painting was on Gregory Strachov's mind for several years while recovering from two major surgeries. Gregory painted this painting for several months because the detail and lighting required complete concentration. The bluebell is something that represents Greg's spirit in many of his favorite works. It's a beautiful addition regardless of the actual possibility of the flowers existence in such a harsh environment.
