This is a limited edition print of an image that originated four months before Strachov learned that he had a major meningioma brain tumor. He was operated on for 13 hours to remove half of it. The second half was removed more than a year later. While being paralyzed for three months in the hospital, Gregory often thought about the Native American girl walking with her newborn and crying. It took three years for the artist to fully recover from his surgeries. This is when this painting began.
